Project Delivery Manager
Widnes, Cheshire | Full-time, onsite
We’re working with a fast-growing UK business operating across marine, onsite and wholesale distribution. The business is going through an exciting period of growth and is now looking for a Project Delivery Manager to join the team in a newly created role.
This is a hands-on position with genuine responsibility. You’ll own projects from the moment an order lands through production, warehousing, shipping and final delivery - making sure everything gets out on time, in full and without the customer having to chase.
The role
You’ll become the person who knows exactly where every live order is.
Working closely with customers, manufacturing partners, warehouses, freight providers and the internal team, you’ll coordinate the entire delivery process, identify risks early and make sure issues are resolved before they reach the customer.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Owning projects end-to-end, from order confirmation through to delivery.
- Planning production and coordinating key manufacturing partners.
- Tracking progress against agreed dates and resolving issues quickly.
- Coordinating stock, components, dispatch and delivery readiness.
- Acting as the main customer contact once an order is placed.
- Managing international shipments and import/export documentation.
- Coordinating freight forwarders, carriers and warehouse partners across the UK and Europe.
- Maintaining accurate project and order information across business systems.
- Reporting on delivery performance, lead times and outstanding issues.
- Identifying recurring problems and driving practical improvements.

What we're looking for
This role would suit someone with experience in project delivery, production planning, supply chain, order fulfilment or operations coordination within manufacturing, engineering, wholesale or distribution.
You’ll need to be:
- Highly organised, methodical and comfortable owning detail.
- Confident dealing with customers, suppliers and manufacturing partners.
- Experienced in coordinating outsourced or subcontract manufacturing.
- Comfortable with international shipping and import/export processes.
- Confident using Excel and ERP, MRP or order management systems.
- Calm under pressure and naturally solutions-focused.
- Comfortable challenging suppliers and colleagues when something needs fixing.
- Hungry to progress, but humble enough to learn and develop along the way.

Experience with engineered products, metalwork, electrical/lighting, offshore manufacturing or continuous improvement would be advantageous.

This role is deliberately designed as a step up. You’ll have genuine ownership from day one, with a clear development path towards broader operational responsibility.
Over your first 12–24 months, you’ll have the opportunity to take on greater responsibility across supplier management, purchasing, logistics, systems and operational improvement. For the right person, there is a clear route into senior operational leadership as the business continues to scale.
Progression is based on capability and results, with formal development reviews along the way.
