Role Description
The Project Design and Estimator is a full-time, hybrid role based in Huddersfield, dividing time between field kitchen design and the office. Our client is the largest provider of social housing in West Yorkshire. The successful candidate will work with the local authority installation teams and Kirklees tenants on planned and void kitchen solutions. In addition, the project manager will liaise with our customer to organise design appointments for local residents, providing samples and designing kitchens within the scope of the framework. CAD drawings and estimates are agreed with the client pending call off. Post delivery customer service, keeping stock holdings at agreed levels, and keeping KPI statistics up to date are also essential parts of the role. OTE £32k to £36k (includes bonus) depending on experience.

- Strong project design skills, with experience creating layouts and specifications for furniture or interior projects.
- Proficiency in estimating and costing, including the ability to prepare accurate quotations and work within defined budgets.
- Comfort with technical drawings and documentation, ideally using CAD or similar design software.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with clients, sales teams, and production staff.
- Good numerical and analytical abilities to assess materials, labor, and production requirements.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and changing priorities.
- Experience in furniture, joinery, construction, or interior design sectors is advantageous.
- Relevant qualification in design, engineering, quantity surveying, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment, dividing time appropriately between the Huddersfield site and field-based work.
