A Snapshot of Your Day

In this role you’ll focus on the SGT-A35 gas turbine as a central member of the mechanical design team delivering to both R&D project, cost reduction projects and operational activities.

On a day-to-day you’ll be creating, iterating and assessing component designs against fit, form, and function while engaging other engineering team members to delivery of an optimized solution that meets project requirements.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • You will bring a holistic design mindset and be the primary driver to ensure designs meet fit-form-function against project and operational requirements.
  • You will own our designs through their lifecycle: conceptual design, basic/detailed design, manufacturing optimization, implementation, and R&O.
  • You will output DFMEAs, designs, models, schemes, technical presentations, technical specifications, design guidelines & best practices, amongst other deliverables.
  • You will mentor and coach junior engineers by actively sharing your knowledge and encouraging skill development within the team.
  • You will collaborate with technical specialists in analytical and manufacturing fields to develop optimized design solutions that meet requirements.
  • In response to field failures, you will be involved in root cause analysis for components in which you have developed expertise.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering disciplines, and membership with "l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec".
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in manufacturing environments such as castings, forgings, and machining (conventional and advanced methods); turbine aerofoils or structures/casings a plus.
  • Experience with CAD tools and with ASME Y14.5M standard or other similar drawing standards.
  • This position is in a French-speaking environment but requires fluency in English to comprehend documentation and technical terms from international sources, and to communicate with customers, suppliers, or international colleagues.
  • Must meet Canadian Export Control Requirements if based out of Canada.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
