Project Development Manager – C&I Renewables

Location: UK
Employment: Full-time
Reporting to: Head of Development / Development Director

Role Overview

We are a UK-based Independent Power Producer (IPP) developing commercial & industrial (C&I) renewable energy projects, including rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV, BESS and integrated energy solutions. We are seeking a Project Development Manager to lead projects from initial site identification and customer engagement through to construction readiness and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development of C&I solar PV, BESS and hybrid energy projects.
  • Identify and assess suitable commercial and industrial sites.
  • Manage relationships with corporate customers, landlords, developers, property owners and other stakeholders.
  • Lead site due diligence, feasibility studies, planning, grid connection and technical assessments.
  • Develop project layouts, capacity assessments and initial project economics.
  • Support customer proposals, commercial structuring, PPAs and energy-as-a-service solutions.
  • Manage external consultants and contractors through the development process.
  • Coordinate legal, planning, technical and commercial workstreams.
  • Identify and manage project risks, budgets and development programmes.
  • Support investment approvals, financing, procurement and transition into construction.

Requirements

  • Experience developing UK C&I renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong experience in commercial/industrial solar PV and/or BESS.
  • Understanding of UK planning, grid connection and property processes.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to assess project viability.
  • Experience working directly with corporate customers or commercial property stakeholders is highly desirable.
  • Strong project management, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects from origination through to delivery.
