Key Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Project Creative

  • Inspires the creative team using brainstorming sessions, team meetings, and project reviews, and other strategic tools
  • Assigns Creative Directors to projects and oversees quality and creative objectives ensuring client goals are met within the budget and schedule parameters
  • Set early-stage concept and narrative, help shape the project with the client and team
  • Act as Creative Director for projects where required

Business Development

  • Own creative pitch briefs, attend pitch briefings, and define creative requirements and strategy alongside the BD team
  • Allocates appropriate creative team member to work on the pitch and reviews response ensuring appropriate to business objectives and project scope
  • Presents the creative vision to clients in pitches or supports others in doing so.

Creative Leadership

  • Mentor creative directors and artists and their development within projects and production teams.
  • Maintains consistency over the quality and message of the creative team’s output across all projects and leads regular creative reviews ensuring client objectives are met balanced with commercial requirements
  • Evaluates the status of the industry and the market to ensure delivery of relevant and useful products, messages, or branding.
  • Anticipates the future direction of the industry using both research and own insight and brings the company into the fore of that trajectory, contributing and leading in project share outs, industry share outs, and any internal creative strategy

HR

  • Line management of all Creatives within their team
  • Leads performance reviews of Creatives
  • Ensures continued professional development / training of creative staff in their team
  • Acts as hiring manager for all Creative Director hires within the divisional team, identifies requirements, agrees job descriptions and advertisements, and participates in interviews and selection process.
  • Participates in the interview and selection process for all junior and mid-level creative hires, overseeing the Creative Director as hiring manager.
  • Participates in the interview and selection process for all team members alongside the Lead Producer
  • Serve as a role model and mentor within Squint and externally; participate in knowledge shares, actively improve Squint’s process, deliver thought leadership

  • Is passionate about design, art, and new creative technologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills determine and communicate a clear sense of direction and purpose for the creative production team within the division.
  • Inspires a high performance and innovative culture.
  • Sets standards of behavior and acts as a leader and role model.
  • Motivate teams and give credit where due.
  • Approachable, flexible attitude, adapts well to changing priorities.
  • Has up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and developments.
