Event Project Director – Large-Scale Live Events
MUST HAVE EVENTS OR CREATIVE / COMMS AGENCY EXPERIENCE AS AN EVENT PROJECT LEAD
Location: Midlands | Hybrid – 3 days in office
Sector: Live Events / Corporate Events / Internal Communications
The Role
On behalf of our client, a leading live events and communications agency in Midlands, we are seeking an experienced Event Project Director to take operational leadership of large-scale, high-profile live events and corporate experiences.
This is a senior delivery role for an experienced event operations leader who thrives on complexity, scale, and pace. You will take ownership from initial brief through to final delivery, leading project teams, suppliers, production partners, logistics, and budgets to ensure every element is delivered seamlessly on time and to the highest standard.
Alongside operational leadership, you will build trusted senior client relationships, acting as a key point of contact and helping to develop and grow important accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Large-Scale Event Delivery: Lead the end-to-end delivery of major live events, conferences, experiences, and internal communications programmes, from brief and planning through to onsite execution and debrief.
- Operational Leadership: Own the full operational plan, coordinating production, technical, creative, content, logistics, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver exceptional events.
- Project & Budget Management: Take accountability for significant budgets, timelines, risk management, resource planning, and commercial delivery.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate Project Managers, Producers, and wider cross-functional teams, ensuring clear ownership, communication, and delivery standards.
- Client Management: Build strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, confidently managing expectations and acting as the senior operational lead throughout projects.
- Account Development: Identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships, grow accounts, and support new business and pitch activity.
- Onsite Delivery: Take senior responsibility on the ground at major events, managing teams, suppliers, stakeholders, and any challenges that arise with calm authority.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive robust processes, lessons learned, and best practice across event delivery and operations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
