Project Director
We're looking for a Project Director to take full delivery accountability for a multi-site BESS construction and commissioning programme, from mobilisation through energisation, testing and handover. Expect regular travel to sites and client offices across the UK as a core part of this role.
This is a hands-on, senior delivery role. You'll hold contractors and suppliers to their milestones, keep programme and cost under control across multiple sites simultaneously, and report cleanly into board, investor and lender stakeholders on where things actually stand.
You'll be responsible for:
- Full programme, commercial and quality accountability across a multi-project BESS portfolio
- Driving delivery from construction through energisation, commissioning and handover
- Budget, forecast final cost, variations and contractor claims
- Senior stakeholder reporting, clear, decision-focused, no surprises
- Managing site-based project managers and interfacing with principal contractors, BESS suppliers and grid counterparties

What you'll need:
- A strong track record delivering complex power, energy or infrastructure projects through construction and commissioning
- Experience owning multiple concurrent projects or a major multi-workstream programme
- Strong commercial grounding, cost forecasting, change control, claims, delay exposure
- Confidence to challenge contractors and stakeholders at senior level
- Degree-level qualification in engineering, construction or project management (or equivalent experience); chartered status (APM, PMI, CIOB, ICE, IET) advantageous

Nice to have:
- Direct BESS construction/commissioning experience in GB
- HV substations, grid connections, DNO/NGET interfaces, energisation
- NEC/EPC contracts, project-financed delivery environments
UK-based, with regular site travel. Contract role, Outside IR35.
