About Dalkia UK

Jointly owned by EDF Energy and Dalkia, we are a leading UK technical services provider, delivering engineering, facilities management and energy solutions nationwide.

With 5,000+ employees and £600m+ turnover, we combine the strength of a major group with a people-first culture, innovation mindset and inclusive values making Dalkia a great place to grow your career.

Project Director

Lead major programmes. Build lasting client partnerships. Make a difference to the UK's Net Zero journey.

We're looking for an exceptional Project Director to join our Northern team and play a key role in the successful delivery of complex energy, infrastructure and decarbonisation programmes.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who combines strong project delivery expertise with commercial acumen, client leadership and a genuine ability to inspire people.

You'll take strategic and operational accountability for a major client programme or small portfolio of projects, potentially valued at up to £30m, leading multidisciplinary teams and ensuring successful outcomes from early design development through construction, commissioning and handover.

Your opportunity to make an impact

As Project Director, you'll be the senior accountable leader for your client relationship, providing clear direction across projects and ensuring we deliver against cost, time, quality, safety and customer expectations.

  • You'll work closely with our Regional Director and colleagues across the wider business, providing leadership across delivery, commercial, financial and operational performance.
  • This is a role for someone who enjoys being visible and influential - whether that's building relationships with senior clients, leading project boards, supply chain partners and coaching Project Managers or finding smarter ways to deliver.
  • You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of Dalkia, identifying opportunities within client accounts, supporting bids and mobilisation, and helping shape how we deliver projects as our business evolves.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Leading delivery

  • Have a genuine passion for people and show that the safety and wellbeing of our teams is priority in all that you do.
  • Take overall accountability for programme and portfolio performance across cost, time, quality and delivery.
  • Develop and own the programme strategy, managing inter-project dependencies and priorities.
  • Provide strong governance across commercial, financial, operational, risk and QSHE performance.
  • Maintain oversight of commercial performance of the projects by ensuring strong financial management and governance.
  • Drive lessons learned and continuous improvement across the portfolio.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
