Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Director to lead the building aspect of Washwood Heath Deport to manage the complex projects from inception to completion. This role is crucial for ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, aligning with the Taylor Woodrow / Aureos JV objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the building aspect of the project lifecycle for this large-scale infrastructure projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, detailed work breakdown structures, resource allocation, and realistic timelines.
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and cost efficiencies are maximized without compromising quality or safety.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans to address potential issues proactively.
  • Build and lead high-performing project teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory bodies, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all relevant industry standards, health and safety regulations, environmental policies, and JV procedures.
  • Prepare and present regular project progress reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in project management methodologies and operational efficiency.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in project management within the infrastructure sector, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or Director-level role.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large, complex infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, bridges, railways, data centres, utilities).
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP) are highly preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets, multiple teams, and diverse stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, legal frameworks, and regulatory requirements in the infrastructure industry.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to travel to project offices and sites as required.
  • Experience working with HS2 is desirable but not essential.
