Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.

BGEN is one of the UK's largest multidisciplinary design and build contractors with over 100 years of industry experience. We support clients in the Water, Power & Energy, Pharmaceutical, Nuclear and Food and Beverage industries to deliver next generation, value-added engineering solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

The Project Director is accountable for the safe, successful, and profitable delivery of major projects from tender handover through execution, commissioning, and close-out. The role provides strategic leadership to multidisciplinary teams, ensuring projects are delivered in line with contractual, commercial, programme, quality, safety, and operational objectives while maintaining strong client relationships and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading project teams, promoting a high-performance culture, and ensuring effective mobilisation, execution, and completion of projects.
  • Owning overall health, safety, environmental, and wellbeing performance.
  • Managing project profitability, cash flow, commercial strategy, contractual matters, and risk management.
  • Overseeing programme controls, project reporting, engineering governance, quality assurance, and commissioning activities.
  • Acting as the senior representative to clients and stakeholders.
  • Leading governance reviews, managing strategic relationships, and protecting the organisation’s reputation.
  • Being ultimately accountable for safety, programme delivery, financial performance, quality, client satisfaction, workforce leadership, governance compliance, and achieving the project's strategic objectives.

What You Will Bring

You are an accomplished Project Director with extensive experience delivering major E&I and Mechanical projects from concept through commissioning and handover. You combine strong technical credibility with commercial awareness, strategic leadership, and a relentless focus on safety, quality, programme, and client satisfaction. You are comfortable operating in complex, high-value environments and have the capability to lead large multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional project outcomes while protecting commercial performance and strengthening long-term client relationships.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
