📢 Project Director – Flagship Data Centre Project | Central London

💼 Salary: Executive-level package (DOE) + Benefits

🕵️ ♂️ For my client – a forward-thinking, highly respected regional contractor delivering complex, technically led projects

Are you a senior construction leader with a proven track record delivering major, mission-critical schemes? Do you thrive in technically demanding environments where leadership, strategy, and precision are paramount?

I’m recruiting on behalf of an outstanding regional construction business to appoint a Project Director to lead the delivery of a flagship data centre project in Central London, with an estimated site value of c. £200m.

This is a pivotal, high-profile role within the business and represents a rare opportunity to take ownership of one of the most significant projects in its portfolio.

🏗️ The Role

As Project Director, you will have full responsibility for the successful end-to-end delivery of this landmark data centre project, from pre-construction through to completion and handover. You will act as the senior client-facing lead, setting project strategy, driving programme and commercial performance, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and technical excellence.

Working closely with internal teams, consultants, and key supply-chain partners, you will lead a large, multidisciplinary delivery team and report directly at board level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall leadership and governance of a £200m+ data centre project
  • Acting as the primary interface with the client, consultants, and stakeholders
  • Driving programme certainty, risk management, and commercial control
  • Leading and mentoring senior project, commercial, and site teams
  • Ensuring best-in-class standards in health & safety, quality, sustainability, and commissioning
  • Representing the business on a flagship scheme within a competitive, high-profile London market

✅ Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience as a Project Director / Senior Project Director delivering major projects (£100m+)
  • Strong background in data centres, mission-critical, or highly serviced technical buildings
  • Excellent commercial awareness and experience managing complex delivery strategies
  • Confident operating at client, board, and investor level
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience delivering projects in live or constrained urban environments
