Project Director – Live Events | Technical Production
England (North-east preference) | International Travel | Full-time
ICP Search has partnered with a market leader in live event production, delivering large-scale LED displays, AV solutions, and creative experiences for some of the world's biggest sporting and entertainment events. Off the back of a major new partnership with an international sports federation, the business is scaling its delivery capability and creating a new senior leadership role to guide it.
We are now looking for a Project Director to lead and develop the Project Management team, taking ownership of delivery standards across the live events portfolio and acting as the senior point of accountability for how projects are run.
The role
This is a leadership role rather than a purely hands-on one. As Project Director, you'll sit above the individual project level — managing, coaching and developing a team of Project Managers as they deliver LED, video, lighting, rigging, power and audio projects across major sporting and entertainment events. You'll set the standards for how projects are planned, documented and delivered, stepping in on the most complex or highest-profile projects and acting as the senior escalation point when things get difficult. With a significant new federation contract now live, there's real scope to build out the team and shape how the function operates as the business grows. You'll retain close visibility of technical delivery while your day-to-day focus shifts to people, process and senior client relationships.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
