About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Data Centre Project Director to join our London-based data centre team and lead the delivery of some of the most complex and high-profile, mission-critical projects in the sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead (from inception to commissioning) large-scale, campus-style data centre construction programmes for prominent technology clients across Europe.
- Be accountable for multi-phase programme performance, ensuring alignment with organisational governance, client goals, and consistent, high-quality delivery across cost, schedule, quality, and risk.
- Own executive-level client relationships, deploying best practices to maximise value, outcomes, and stakeholder engagement.
- Establish programme governance, reporting, and risk management structures to drive clarity, control, and informed decision-making.
- Oversee commercial strategy, including procurement, cost management, and contract administration.
- Provide strategic oversight of commissioning, Integrated Systems Testing (IST), and operational readiness, ensuring performance and uptime meet demanding requirements.
- Lead on-site and virtual engagement during critical project phases.
- Drive innovation, sustainability, and emerging technology adoption to enhance programme outcomes.
- Support strategic pursuits, proposals, and business development to grow client relationships.

Key Responsibilities (Expanded)
Programme Leadership & Delivery
- Lead multi-phase, high-impact, campus-scale data centre programmes (from early strategy through to energisation and operation).
- Ensure alignment with internal governance frameworks while delivering full lifecycle value, particularly in AI and cloud infrastructure projects.
- Accountable for programme performance—cost, schedule, risk, and quality—across all deliverables.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Manage high-level client relationships, aligning complex programmes to client objectives.
- Deploy best practices in consultative selling, value-driven engagement, and escalation strategies.
Commercial & Operational Oversight
- Define commercial strategy, including procurement, contractor engagements, and contract administration.
- Oversee commissioning and IST processes, ensuring adherence to Level 1–5 commissioning and data centre standards.
Innovation & Sustainability
- Champion innovative design, delivery methodologies, and sustainability approaches.
- Support the adoption of emerging technologies to enhance project outcomes.
Team & Business Development
- Lead multidisciplinary teams globally, fostering accountability, trust, and excellence.
- Contribute to business development and strategic pursuits to expand client relationships.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential Requirements
- Extensive experience delivering large-scale, multi-phase, mission-critical data centre programmes (under live/operational constraints).
- Proven £250m+–£1bn+ programme management track record.
- Strong understanding of data centre design principles, including multi-drop distribution, redundancy strategies (N+X), power/cooling systems (MEP).
- Experience overseeing full commissioning arcs (Level 1-5), IST planning, and load testing.
- Proven commercial acumen with expertise in contract strategy, procurement, and cost management.
- Experience with major contract forms (NEC, JCT, FIDIC) and ** Eusmodes’ negotiation frameworks**.
- Ability to engage, influence, and drive outcomes with executive-level stakeholders.
- Degree-qualified in a relevant field, with MRICS (Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent preferred.

- Experience managing campus-scale developments in high-density or multi-ground source environments.
- Knowledge of global construction standards, health and safety compliance (e.g., local DVEC requirements).
- Ability to articulate technical deliverables across diverse stakeholders.
- Experience adopting lean methodologies, digital tools, and hybrid project delivery.
