Project Director – Commercial Fit Out & Retrofit
Location: Bristol City Centre

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of a major commercial retrofit and refurbishment scheme in the heart of Bristol.
Working with a specialist commercial fit out contractor, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of a high-profile, large-scale project, working alongside an experienced senior project team and key project stakeholders.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Project Director with a strong track record across large-scale commercial fit out, refurbishment or retrofit projects, ideally with previous experience delivering schemes in the £50M–£100M+ range.
The Role
As Project Director, you will provide strategic and operational leadership throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring the scheme is delivered safely, commercially and to the highest standards of quality and programme.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Taking overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project.
- Providing leadership and direction to the project and site teams.
- Managing programme, quality, health & safety and commercial performance.
- Working closely with the client, consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
- Driving project strategy and ensuring key milestones are achieved.
- Managing risk, change and project delivery challenges.
- Overseeing procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
- Maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring expectations are consistently met.
- Leading project meetings and providing clear reporting to senior management.
- Ensuring the project is delivered in line with contractual requirements and company standards.
About You
The successful candidate will have a proven background as a Project Director, Senior Project Manager or equivalent, with significant experience delivering major commercial fit out, refurbishment or retrofit schemes.

Ideally, you will have:
- Proven experience delivering £50M–£100M+ commercial projects.
- A strong background in commercial fit out and/or major refurbishment.
- Experience working for a main contractor or specialist fit out contractor.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- A detailed understanding of programme, commercial and construction management.
- Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.
- A strong track record of delivering complex projects safely, on time and to a high standard.
