Job Description
About the Role
The Data Centre market represents one of the largest and fastest-growing opportunities within Real Estate Digital. Accelerated by global investment in cloud infrastructure, AI, hyperscale campuses, and mission-critical facilities, clients are seeking increasingly sophisticated digital capabilities to support the planning, delivery, and operation of their assets.
We are seeking a commercially minded and technically credible Director to establish, grow, and support major projects in our Data Centre business. This individual will be responsible for developing our market position, building strategic client relationships, winning work, and ensuring the successful delivery of digital services across some of the industry's most complex programmes.
Reporting into the Head of Growth & Markets, the role will act as the focal point for the Data Centre sector, bringing together our Digital Advisory, Information Management, Data & AI, Systems Integration, and Digital Delivery capabilities into a coherent market offering that responds to client needs and drives sustainable business growth.
This is a senior role for someone who can combine market-facing growth responsibilities with deep sector knowledge and technical leadership. Success will be measured through revenue growth, client satisfaction, and establishing Turner & Townsend as a recognised leader in Digital services for Data Centres.
Key Commercial Responsibilities

Support Growth of Digital Services in Data Centre Sector
- Contribute to the ongoing development of digital services and solutions for large Data Centre projects.
- Work with key clients to develop industry-leading approaches to project delivery across developers, operators, hyperscalers, investors, and occupiers.
- Contribute to, and take accountability for agreeing and developing contracts and bids.
- Provide regular sector intelligence, market insights, and growth forecasts to support business planning and investment decisions.

Build Strategic Client Relationships
- Establish trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
- Partner with clients to establish and support their project and programme delivery needs.
- Act as an executive sponsor and trusted adviser on major opportunities and commissions.
- Represent Turner & Townsend's digital business through conferences, industry groups, publications, and client engagement activities.

Win New Business
- Lead strategic pursuits and major bids across the sector.
- Develop compelling value propositions that differentiate Turner & Townsend's Digital services within the market.
- Work closely with account teams, regional leaders, and service leads to maximise win rates and expand client relationships.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell and integrate services across the wider business.

Develop Sector Propositions
- Translate market challenges into sector-specific service offerings and propositions.
- Identify emerging client needs, technology trends, and competitive opportunities.
- Lead the development of thought leadership, case studies, and market campaigns that strengthen our market position.
- Establish clear go-to-market propositions that align our Digital capabilities to Data Centre client challenges.

Deliver Sustainable Commercial Performance
- Support resource forecasting and investment planning.
- Ensure commissions are commercially successful and aligned with agreed business objectives.
- Continuously improve profitability through effective sector planning and prioritisation.
Key Technical Responsibilities

Technical Leadership for Data Centre Digital Services
- Provide strategic leadership across all digital services delivered into the Data Centre sector.
- Act as the senior subject matter expert and trusted adviser for complex client challenges.
- Support project teams and clients in defining digital strategies that improve certainty, performance, and operational outcomes.

Digital Advisory and Transformation
- Lead the development of Digital Action Plans, digital roadmaps, and transformation strategies.
- Advise clients on operating models, governance arrangements, and implementation approaches.
- Support the adoption of digital ways of working across the full asset lifecycle.

Information Management and BIM
- Provide leadership for Information Management and BIM across Data Centre programmes.
- Guide the development of information requirements, digital standards, governance frameworks, and assurance processes.
- Ensure delivery teams apply industry best practice and consistent approaches across commissions.

Data, Reporting, and Programme Intelligence
- Champion data-driven decision-making across client programmes.
- Support the implementation of reporting frameworks, digital dashboards, and programme intelligence solutions.
- Promote the effective use of analytics, automation, and AI to improve programme performance and executive decision-making.

Systems and Technology Enablement
- Provide strategic direction on Common Data Environments, digital platforms, and integrated technology ecosystems.
- Support clients in selecting, implementing, and optimising digital solutions.
- Ensure digital systems support long-term programme and operational objectives.

Quality and Assurance
- Maintain technical excellence across all Data Centre commissions.
- Provide senior assurance and peer review support for complex programmes.
- Support capability development and best practice adoption across the wider Real Estate Digital business.

- Leadership Responsibilities
- Build and lead the Data Centre Digital community across Real Estate Digital.
- Act as the single point of coordination for Data Centre opportunities, pursuits, and commissions.
- Work closely with service line leads to assemble and deploy multidisciplinary teams.
- Support recruitment and talent development activities aligned to anticipated growth.
- Mentor consultants and future sector leaders.
- Contribute to wider Real Estate Digital leadership, business planning, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
Experience and Attributes
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Significant experience operating within the Data Centre sector.
- Strong understanding of the digital challenges associated with planning, designing, constructing, and operating mission-critical facilities.
- Proven success developing client relationships and winning work.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and complex programmes.
- Strong understanding of one or more of the following disciplines:
- Digital Advisory
- Information Management and BIM
- Data and Analytics
- AI and Automation
- Systems Integration
- Digital Delivery
- Ability to combine commercial leadership with technical credibility.
- Experience managing senior client stakeholders and executive-level relationships.
- Strong strategic thinking, communication, and leadership capabilities.
- Track record of growing revenue, developing propositions, and creating market opportunities.
