Project Director - Datacentre

Location: London (5 days per week on site)
Salary: £120,000 - £140,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Must hold EU or UK passport.

We are recruiting for an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of a major data centre redevelopment programme in London. This is a unique opportunity to oversee the transformation of an existing mission-critical facility, taking full responsibility for programme delivery from planning through to commissioning and handover.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will provide strategic direction across all aspects of the project, ensuring delivery against programme, budget, quality and safety objectives while managing relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful delivery of a large-scale data centre redevelopment project.
  • Provide strategic leadership across design, construction, commissioning and project controls.
  • Manage multidisciplinary project teams, consultants and principal contractors.
  • Develop and maintain programme schedules, budgets and delivery plans.
  • Ensure the highest standards of health, safety and quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify and manage project risks, dependencies and mitigation strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and executive stakeholders, providing regular project reporting and governance.
  • Lead commercial decision-making, contract administration and change management.
  • Oversee commissioning, testing and successful project handover.
  • Drive continuous improvement and best practice across project delivery.

About You

You will be an accomplished Project Director with extensive experience delivering large-scale, complex construction or mission-critical infrastructure projects.

You'll bring:

  • Significant experience leading major data centre, mission-critical, industrial or complex construction programmes.
  • Proven track record of delivering multi-million-pound projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong leadership experience managing large multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge.
  • Experience working with Tier 1 contractors, developers or client-side organisations.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of project governance, risk management and programme controls.
  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • Professional accreditation (APM, RICS, CIOB, CEng or equivalent) would be advantageous.
