Project Director

Location: London / Project Dependent
Sector: Data Centres, Defence & Energy
Salary: £140,000 - £150,000 + Package

The Opportunity

A leading specialist contractor is looking to appoint a highly experienced Project Director to take full ownership of a major construction project within its data, defence and energy portfolio.
This is a senior project leadership position for someone with Tier 1 experience delivering schemes in excess of £50 million. You will lead the project team, protect programme and commercial performance and act as a key interface with the client, consultants and supply chain. The role requires someone who can combine operational leadership with a strong understanding of MEP, design, procurement, risk and contractual delivery.

Role Overview

You will establish clear project objectives and lead the site team from mobilisation through to successful completion. You will own the contract programme, ensuring progress is monitored closely and recovery action is taken where necessary, while maintaining the flow of information needed to keep construction teams working to the latest approved details.

  • Work closely with the project Quantity Surveyors to understand the financial position, monitor preliminaries, protect margin and identify opportunities to improve commercial outcomes.
  • Procurement will be planned well in advance, subcontractor performance will be managed closely and you will ensure contractual obligations under NEC or JCT are understood and delivered.
  • Health, safety, quality and client management will sit at the centre of your role. You will lead safety initiatives, maintain high standards of housekeeping and workmanship, oversee project quality plans and inspection regimes and make sure the project is delivered to the agreed standard without unnecessary cost or delay.
  • Lead and develop junior team members, hold regular project meetings, provide weekly reporting to the Head of Construction and ensure records are maintained in line with the business's management systems.
  • Build strong customer relationships that support long-term partnerships and repeat business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
