Project Document Controller
Location: Macclesfield
We are looking for an experienced Project Document Controller to join our Asset Information Team, supporting the delivery of engineering and refurbishment projects across a complex client environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong document control, asset information, or project support experience who enjoys working closely with project teams and stakeholders to ensure critical asset data is accurate, compliant and ready for operational use.
As Project Document Controller, you will play a key role in managing project information throughout the lifecycle of engineering and facilities projects, ensuring that drawings, manuals, maintenance documentation and asset records are accurately updated and transitioned into operational systems.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing the quality, control and transition of project documentation and asset information.
- Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Maintenance Teams and Contractors.
- Creating Asset Information Delivery Plans (AIDPs) at project initiation.
- Tracking and reporting progress against project information deliverables.
- Coordinating Requests for Information (RFIs) from contractors and stakeholders.
- Updating engineering drawings, operating procedures and maintenance documentation following project changes.
- Ensuring documentation is correctly loaded into electronic document management systems.
- Supporting the delivery of asset information across multiple databases and systems.
- Attending project progress meetings and providing input on information management activities.
- Monitoring information handover milestones and escalating any risks to delivery.
- Supporting audits and compliance activities through accurate record management.
- Driving continuous improvement and best practice within information management processes.

What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a Document Controller, Asset Information, Engineering Administration or Project Support role
- Strong working knowledge of Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS)
- Experience managing controlled documentation, revision control and document lifecycles
- Excellent Microsoft Office 365 skills
- Strong database management experience
- Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet project deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels

Desirable
- Experience supporting engineering, facilities management, construction or capital projects
- Knowledge of BIM, COBie data and asset information management processes
- Understanding of project delivery and change management processes
