Project Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 DOE

The Company

Our client is a specialist engineering business delivering industrial decontamination, sterilisation and bespoke process systems to customers across the UK. They design, manufacture, install and commission turnkey solutions for highly regulated industries where quality and compliance are paramount.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Project Engineer to join their Projects team.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Projects & Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for delivering installation, commissioning and validation projects across customer sites throughout the UK.

This is a hands-on position where you will manage all onsite activities from equipment delivery through to commissioning, validation and final client handover.

The successful candidate will regularly stay away Monday-Friday whilst projects are being completed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out installation of industrial process and sterilisation equipment.
  • Manage onsite project activities from delivery through to completion.
  • Position and reassemble machinery from engineering drawings.
  • Complete mechanical utility connections including steam, water and compressed air.
  • Complete electrical final connections to local isolation points.
  • Commission machinery and undertake fault finding on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Complete IQ, OQ, PQ and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
  • Train customer personnel following installation.
  • Liaise closely with Project Managers throughout project delivery.
  • Identify and resolve installation snags.
  • Produce accurate job reports and timesheets.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with customers throughout each project.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) where required.
  • Assist within the manufacturing facility during quieter project periods.

  • Proven experience installing and commissioning industrial equipment.
  • Strong mechanical installation experience.
  • Electrical installation and fault-finding experience.
  • Ability to interpret Mechanical Drawings, P&ID Drawings, Electrical Schematics.
  • Experience completing commissioning activities.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Willing to travel nationwide and stay away Monday-Friday.
