Purpose

The Project Engineer is responsible for the successful delivery of high-accuracy metering and grid system monitoring projects, providing technical leadership across the full project lifecycle from concept and design through to commissioning and client handover. The role ensures that engineering solutions are safely designed, built, tested, and integrated to meet customer, regulatory, and business requirements while supporting project delivery to time, cost, and quality targets.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Engineering delivery of metering and grid system monitoring projects across the full lifecycle, from design through testing, commissioning, and final handover, under the guidance of project managers.
• Act as the customer's day-to-day point of contact during delivery, setting expectations proactively and keeping customers informed at every key stage.
• Review and management of technical designs, documentation, and controlled changes for CoP1, CoP2, and bespoke monitoring solutions.
• Lead factory, integration, system, and customer witness testing activities (FAT, FIT, SIT), applying hands-on command of test procedures and standards.
• Collaborate with the Design team on customer-specific input for your projects.
• Coordinate on-site installation, commissioning, and integration at customer premises, ensuring work is delivered safely and to specification.
• Ensure engineering tasks are carried out in line with applicable technical standards, safety requirements, and internal processes.
• Balance office and site-based work, including travel to sites across the UK as projects require.
• Actively participate in training, coaching, and development activities aligned with role progression.
• Adhere to all Stark policies, procedures and working practices.
• Ensure the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by what you do; use work equipment provided safely and co-operate with managers to provide safe systems of work.
