About The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Engineer to join a major reinforced concrete and civil engineering project in Essex. As a Project Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting the technical delivery and successful execution of reinforced concrete structures and associated civil works. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong technical expertise and excellent coordination skills to ensure all project phases adhere to design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and capable of working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project milestones efficiently.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer, Site Engineer, or similar role within civil engineering, reinforced concrete, or major construction projects.
- Strong technical understanding of reinforced concrete, foundations, formwork, reinforcement, and related civil engineering works.
- Experience working with construction drawings, specifications, technical documentation, and quality standards.
- Proficiency in producing or managing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), inspection records, RFIs, as-built documentation, and handover materials.
- Valid CSCS Card is essential.
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
- Previous experience with large reinforced concrete structures is highly desirable.

Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager and site team in the technical delivery of reinforced concrete and civil engineering works, ensuring adherence to project specifications and standards.
- Coordinate daily engineering activities related to reinforced concrete structures, including foundations, slabs, walls, columns, and associated civil works.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to confirm compliance with design requirements and quality standards.
- Manage RFIs, technical queries, and design changes, collaborating with the design team to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
- Develop and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), quality records, inspection documentation, and handover information to ensure comprehensive project documentation.
- Monitor ongoing construction activities to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, method statements, and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate site records, including as-built information, surveys, technical documentation, and progress reports to support project transparency and accountability.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing construction methodologies, temporary works requirements, and technical submissions to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Participate in inspections, surveys, and handover activities throughout the project lifecycle to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
