Project Engineer
Based: Yorkshire
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum
Work Location: Hybrid
Role Summary:
Walker & Watts are looking for a skilled Project Engineer to support the design and delivery of electrical civil works. You will ensure that technical, safety, quality, and cost requirements are met across multiple projects including the North East and Yorkshire areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake engineering design, cost estimates, and technical documentation.
- Deliver project works safely and in line with Company processes and industry standards.
- Manage programmes, progress tracking, customer interfaces, and contractor coordination.
- Participate in audits, inspections, safety duties (including CDM), and witness testing.
- Provide technical support for tenders, contract management, asset data, and project reporting.
- Maintain project control over cost, schedule, risk, and resource utilisation.

Requirements:
- Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering (Degree preferred).
- Proven experience in delivering project engineering activities in distribution / transmission.
- Technical knowledge of distribution asset classes (cables, OHL, substations, civil works) up to 66kV.
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations and safety management.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
