Project Engineer (Electrical & Controls) – Gloucestershire | Tewkesbury

Visum Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of an established specialist engineering manufacturer, who are looking to appoint a Project Engineer with an electrical and controls background to join their Gloucestershire-based team.

This is a great opportunity for a technically astute engineer to take ownership of the project lifecycle, from initial proposal through to delivery, acting as a trusted technical partner to customers and the wider sales team.

The Role

• You will take responsibility for projects from proposal stage through to delivery, with the role split roughly 50/50 between proactive project execution and reactive technical troubleshooting.
• You will act as the main technical contact for fabrication teams and electrical control panel builders, tracking progress and assembly quality.
• The role involves building strong customer relationships through regular calls and occasional site visits, offering consultative technical guidance rather than a hard sell.
• You will interpret customer specifications to produce accurate technical proposals, tender documents and cost analyses, and manage subcontractors and suppliers on lead times, pricing and resources.
• You will also provide high-level technical support to the sales team on complex fluid control systems, review technical data sheets, O&M manuals and engineering layouts, and manage sales orders using ERP, CRM and specialist sizing software.
