We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Engineer to join our growing Projects team here at Frontline Security Solutions. Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, you will take technical ownership of the delivery of electronic security installations — including CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarm, and Integrated Security Solutions — from mobilisation through to commissioning and handover.

We have opportunities covering London and also South of the M25. The ideal candidates will be based in or around these locations and be able to easily commute.

What You’ll be Doing as a Project Engineer

Working with our project delivery department to translate designs into deliverable works, coordinate site engineers and subcontractors, and act as a key technical point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal project teams. Working closely with Project and Programme Managers, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality and compliance standards.

  • Take technical ownership of assigned security projects from mobilisation through commissioning, testing, and handover.
  • Review and interpret project designs, specifications, and scopes of work, resolving technical queries with designers and clients.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise the installation and commissioning activities of engineers and subcontractors on site.
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with company installation standards, manufacturer requirements, and relevant industry standards.
  • Commission and configure CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarm, and Integrated Security Systems, and lead fault diagnosis and resolution.
  • Support Project and Programme Managers with programme, resource, and materials planning to keep projects on time and within budget.
  • Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation, including installation records, test sheets, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals.
  • Act as a technical point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal teams, communicating progress and issues clearly.
  • Champion Health & Safety by preparing/reviewing RAMS, enforcing site rules, and promoting safe working practices at all times.
  • Carry out quality inspections and snagging, ensuring works meet the required standard before handover.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to Security Engineers and Trainee Engineers.
  • Manage tools, test equipment, and company property, ensuring they are maintained and calibrated where required.
  • Travel to customer sites as required to support delivery and resolve technical issues.
  • Continuously develop technical knowledge and contribute to improving installation processes and best practice.

What We Would Like You To Bring

Essential:

  • Proven experience in the installation and commissioning of electronic security systems (CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarm, or Integrated Security).
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical and electronic principles and relevant industry standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
  • Experience coordinating engineers and/or subcontractors on site.
  • Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, and commissioning skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and colleagues.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Ability to work at customer sites and travel as required.
  • SC Clearance or agreement to be screened to this level.

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Engineering, or Technical Studies.
  • Manufacturer/product accreditations (e.g. Genetec, Lenel, Gallagher, Milestone, or similar).
  • ECS Card or willingness to obtain one.
  • Experience delivering projects within a regulated or high-security environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and codes of practice (e.g. BS EN, NSI/SSAIB).
