Project Engineer - Gatwick Airport
Location: Gatwick Airport, West Sussex
Salary: Competitive + Package
We're looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join a major civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure works at Gatwick Airport. You'll be working on a live airside project delivering civil engineering packages including drainage, utilities, reinforced concrete, pavements, and associated infrastructure works.
The Role
As Project Engineer, you'll support the delivery team by coordinating engineering activities, managing technical issues, and ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities
- Manage engineering activities across the site.
- Coordinate subcontractors and site teams.
- Review drawings and technical specifications.
- Raise and manage RFIs and technical queries.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained through inspections, ITPs, and as-built records.
- Manage NCRs and support corrective actions.
- Assist with short-term planning and programme delivery.
- Ensure compliance with RAMS, permits, and temporary works procedures.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Project Engineer, Senior Engineer, or Site Engineer on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Experience working on highways, utilities, rail, aviation, or heavy civils projects.
- Good understanding of quality processes including ITPs, RFIs, NCRs, and inspections.
- Able to interpret engineering drawings and resolve technical issues.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- CSCS Card.
- HNC, HND, or Degree in Civil Engineering (preferred).
