Our client is seeking a proactive Project Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is a varied role involving the design, development, and delivery of bespoke recycling and materials handling systems, taking projects from concept through to installation and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Project Engineer will manage engineering aspects of projects from initial concept through to manufacture, installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Produce 2D and 3D general arrangement drawings and system layouts using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Design and develop engineering solutions including conveyors, structures, access platforms, walkways, chutes, and associated equipment.
  • Create detailed manufacturing drawings, models, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Work closely with customers, suppliers, project managers, sales teams, and manufacturing departments to deliver successful projects.
  • Attend site visits to take measurements, support installations, and oversee commissioning activities.
  • Produce technical specifications, manuals, and engineering documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement by challenging existing designs and identifying innovative engineering solutions.

  • Strong experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Experience producing GA drawings, detailed designs, and engineering documentation.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, sheet metal, and special-purpose machinery design, ideally conveyors or materials handling equipment.
  • Experience with BOM management and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
