Project Engineer – Audio

At Aston Martin, we are driven by a passion for creating the world's most desirable ultra-luxury performance cars. As we continue to redefine the in-vehicle experience through innovation and craftsmanship, we are seeking a talented Project Engineer – Audio to join our Infotainment team and play a pivotal role in delivering world-class automotive audio systems across our future vehicle programmes.

As Project Engineer – Audio, you will lead the development, integration, validation, and delivery of next-generation audio technologies across Aston Martin's vehicle portfolio. Working within the Infotainment organisation, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of audio features, from concept and architecture definition through to vehicle launch and customer experience optimisation. This is a highly visible role that combines technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and supplier management to ensure the delivery of exceptional in-cabin sound experiences that meet the expectations of Aston Martin customers.

You will define audio system architectures encompassing amplifiers, speakers, microphones, digital signal processors, head units, and audio network technologies. Working closely with software, systems, hardware, acoustics, HMI, connectivity, and vehicle engineering teams, you will translate customer and business requirements into robust audio solutions that deliver outstanding performance and reliability.

A key aspect of the role will involve leading the integration and validation of premium branded audio systems and sophisticated infotainment audio features, including media playback, radio, Bluetooth and USB audio, telephony, voice assistants, navigation guidance, vehicle alerts, emergency warning systems, and advanced communication functions. You will also support the implementation of immersive and spatial audio technologies, including Dolby Atmos and Apple Spatial Audio, whilst driving the integration of active noise management systems such as Active Noise Cancellation, Road Noise Cancellation, and Engine Order Cancellation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Working with external suppliers and technology partners, you will manage the delivery of software, hardware, and calibration releases, ensuring programme timing, quality, and performance targets are achieved. You will develop audio validation strategies, establish performance KPIs, and lead root cause investigations to resolve complex vehicle-level audio concerns. The role will also involve supporting over-the-air software deployment activities, vehicle testing, customer clinics, and competitor benchmarking exercises to continually enhance the Aston Martin audio experience.

To succeed in this role, you will bring significant experience in automotive infotainment and audio engineering, with a proven track record of delivering production-ready audio systems. You will possess a strong understanding of infotainment architectures, digital signal processing, and vehicle-level integration, alongside experience defining system and software requirements within a structured automotive development environment. Knowledge of automotive communication technologies including CAN, Ethernet, and SOME/IP is essential, as is experience working directly with Tier 1 suppliers and technology partners.

You will be a collaborative and technically capable engineer who is equally comfortable leading complex engineering activities, influencing cross-functional stakeholders, and solving demanding technical challenges. Exposure to cybersecurity, functional safety, and regulatory requirements relating to infotainment systems would be advantageous.
