Where will you be working?

At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.

We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.

We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.

What will you be doing?

At M Group we're recruiting for a Project Engineer who will help us on the Hurlie to Kintore Overhead Line route project. This is a 12 month fixed term contract. This involves the undergrounding of an existing 132kV Single Circuit Overhead Line for 1.6km.

The key responsibility of the Project Engineer for Underground Cables (PE-UC) is to support the Project Manager, Site Staff and Commercial staff in the successful delivery of the cable route and CSEC.

  • Cable Supply Contract.
  • Cable route and CSEC Contractor who will also be responsible for installing the cable.

The PE-UC will support the project team in monitoring the development, design and delivery work in connection with the underground cable and CSEC. This support will involve the direct engagement with the cable supplier, subcontractor and the Client, SSEN.

This role is site based with the offices located in Aberdeen.

Occasional travel to other sites and offices in the UK.

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous experience delivering Underground Cable or Cable Installation Schemes
  • A qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • A qualification involving site delivery, e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH
  • Design of Underground Cable Schemes
  • Involvement in the Factory Acceptance Tests for materials.
  • Working as a member of a Project Delivery Team in a site environment.
  • Experience in the delivery of large scale schemes for Electricity Transmission being delivered to TNO’s in the UK.
  • Full UK driving licence
