Digital Engineering Consultant - NX / Teamcenter (Defence)
Most engineers know the tools. Fewer can walk into a complex defence programme, work out what is actually slowing product development down, and then configure the toolset so it changes how the engineering gets done.
That is this role.
You will lead work packages on high-profile defence programmes, moving between deep technical conversations with frontline engineers and strategic discussions with senior stakeholders. You will define your own scope from vague inputs, design the solution, and lead a small team of experts to deliver it inside tight sprints.
What you will be doing
- Running work packages in large, complex client organisations, from problem definition through to delivery
- Configuring and deploying Siemens NX and Teamcenter in ways that genuinely accelerate the product development cycle
- Leading a team of engineers and enabling each of them to bring their specialism to the task
- Building trust with clients and translating technical capability into measurable business outcomes
- Improving engineering processes across the full value stream, including data management and digital thread

What you will bring
- A genuine engineering background (mechanical, manufacturing, electrical or similar) across the full product development cycle
- Strong CAD expertise, ideally Siemens NX
- PLM experience, ideally Teamcenter
- Experience in several of: digital engineering transformation, systems integration, technical tool configuration, design process optimisation, engineering workflow design
- Consulting skills: stakeholder engagement, change management, business value articulation, work package leadership
- Comfort working in the grey. You define the scope rather than wait for it

- Defence, aerospace, automotive, advanced manufacturing or high-technology product development experience.
