We are seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join our growing team, supporting the delivery of a major nuclear infrastructure programme. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant project while developing your career within a collaborative, innovative, and supportive environment.
As part of the integrated project delivery team, you will lead and coordinate electrical engineering activities across the project lifecycle, ensuring electrical systems are designed, installed, assessed, and commissioned safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, supply chain partners, and key project stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions within a highly regulated environment.

Role Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate electrical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee electrical design, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and statutory requirements.
- Manage electrical work packages and associated engineering deliverables.
- Support construction, commissioning, and project handover activities.
- Review and approve technical documentation, drawings, and engineering submissions.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate engineering risks, opportunities, and technical issues.
- Coordinate interfaces between engineering disciplines to ensure effective project delivery.
- Support programme planning, cost control, and resource forecasting activities.
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems and assurance requirements.
- Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and project teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned activities.

Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with membership of the IET or an equivalent professional body.
- Working towards, or holding, Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
- Experience delivering electrical engineering packages within construction, infrastructure, or engineering projects.
- Experience managing electrical installations through design, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams and managing contractors and supply chain partners.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, and industry standards.
- Experience working in regulated, safety-critical, or high-hazard environments.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering design, installation, testing, and commissioning principles.
- Understanding of HV/LV electrical distribution systems, cable containment, and termination systems.
- Knowledge of BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations, electrical safety procedures, and safe systems of work.
- Understanding of project planning, risk management, engineering change control, and quality assurance processes.
- Experience using Permit to Work systems and awareness of NEC contracts.
- Experience within the nuclear sector or other highly regulated environments is desirable.
- Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems is desirable.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, organisational and planning abilities.
- Initiative-taking approach to managing risk, resolving technical challenges, and driving continuous improvement.
- A strong commitment to safety, quality, and collaborative working.
