We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Project Engineer to join our team, supporting the delivery of major infrastructure works within the energy sector. This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in the successful delivery of significant Overhead Line (OHL) packages on a large-scale programme, from early contractor involvement through to construction and delivery.
Working closely with project leadership and operational teams, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the day-to-day delivery of key project activities, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Role Responsibilities
- Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of Overhead Line (OHL) works across multiple project packages.
- Manage day-to-day project activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget.
- Work closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and key stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Monitor project progress and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and performance.
- Assist with the development and implementation of construction methodologies and delivery strategies.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Coordinate technical inputs, project documentation, and reporting requirements.
- Support risk management activities, identifying and mitigating potential project challenges.
- Attend and contribute to project meetings, providing updates on progress and key deliverables.
- Promote collaboration across project teams to achieve successful project outcomes.

Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- Experience in a Project Engineer role within infrastructure, utilities, energy, construction, or related sectors.
- Degree-qualified in an engineering or relevant discipline (or equivalent qualification).
- Proven history of supporting the delivery of infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of project delivery processes and construction methodologies.
- Knowledge of National Grid systems is desirable.
- Experience of Overhead Line (OHL) construction and/or tower erection activities is desirable.
- Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Strong organisational, planning, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Initiative-taking approach with a commitment to delivering projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

About The Energy Business Unit
We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.
Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying, and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair, and refurbishment services.
