Project Engineer
We’re working with an established BMS business looking for an experienced Commissioning / Project Engineer to join their team, supporting major retail, hospitality and leisure customers.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of BMS but wants to take on more project ownership, with a clear route into larger projects and Project Management if that’s where you want to progress.
Role Overview
This permanent position offers a salary of £60,000, with around 60–70% of the current workload based in and around London. You’ll combine hands-on BMS commissioning with ownership of smaller projects from initial requirements through to handover, while supporting larger works alongside experienced Project Managers.
The work is primarily across existing customer estates, including lifecycle upgrades, energy projects and BMS improvements rather than long-term construction sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Commission BMS systems, including software and graphics.
- Take ownership of smaller projects from requirement through to completion.
- Produce project programmes, technical documentation and site reports.
- Carry out site surveys, panel modifications and updates to control drawings.
- Liaise directly with customers, subcontractors and the wider project team.
- Support larger projects alongside dedicated Project Managers.
- Help develop and deliver BMS solutions across major customer estates.
- Ensure project documentation, risk assessments and commissioning information are kept up to date.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
