Are you an ambitious Project Engineer looking for the opportunity to lead exciting manufacturing projects and make a tangible impact on site performance?

We are seeking a proactive and solutions-focused Project Engineer to join a successful and growing manufacturing business in Sutton Coldfield. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of engineering projects from initial concept through to installation and commissioning, helping to enhance productivity, quality, efficiency, and safety across the facility.

Working closely with operations, suppliers, and contractors, you'll play a key role in delivering capital investment projects and driving continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process.

The Role

As Project Engineer, you'll be responsible for identifying, developing, and delivering engineering solutions that support the site's long-term growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Leading engineering projects from concept, design, and planning through to installation and successful commissioning.
  • Producing, reviewing, and interpreting CAD drawings and technical documentation.
  • Specifying, sourcing, and introducing new manufacturing equipment and technologies.
  • Managing project budgets, timelines, resources, and key milestones.
  • Coordinating suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Conducting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with site health and safety standards.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Supporting the implementation of innovative engineering solutions that enhance manufacturing performance.

About You

We're looking for a motivated engineer who thrives on solving problems, delivering projects, and driving positive change within a manufacturing environment.

You'll Ideally Have

  • HNC/HND or Degree qualification in an Engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proven experience delivering engineering or capital projects within a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
  • Experience specifying, introducing, and commissioning new equipment and processes.
  • Strong CAD experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar software.
  • Excellent project management, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills with experience liaising with suppliers, contractors, and key stakeholders.
  • A hands-on, proactive approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
