Role: Project Engineer (Electrical)
Shift: Monday to Friday, Days
Salary: £55,000 - £57,500 + Bonus + Private Healthcare + Life Assurance (6x salary) + Comprehensive Sick Pay
Location: Exeter
Are you an Electrical Project Engineer, Facilities Engineer or an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer looking to move into a project-focused position?
This is an opportunity to join a leading manufacturer investing significantly across its manufacturing facilities, plant infrastructure and production equipment.
You'll take responsibility for delivering a varied range of capital projects across a complex manufacturing site, covering electrical infrastructure, facilities and building services, plant upgrades, new machinery installations and wider site improvement projects.
The position would suit an established Project Engineer, but equally someone from a hands-on electrical maintenance, facilities or plant engineering background who has been involved in installations, upgrades and improvement projects and is ready to take the next step.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading electrical, facilities and plant engineering projects from initial concept and specification through to installation, commissioning and handover.
- Delivering capital projects across manufacturing equipment, site infrastructure, utilities and building services.
- Managing upgrades and improvements to electrical distribution, power supplies, control systems and associated site infrastructure.
- Supporting facilities projects involving HVAC, ventilation, compressed air, water systems, lighting, heating and other essential site services.
- Managing new machinery and production equipment installations, including electrical supplies, services, layouts and commissioning requirements.
- Developing project scopes, specifications, costings and implementation plans for new equipment and site improvements.
- Working with production and maintenance teams to identify longer-term engineering solutions to recurring plant and infrastructure issues.
- Selecting and sourcing equipment, contractors and specialist engineering services.
- Managing external contractors on site and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
- Coordinating installation, testing and commissioning activities while minimising disruption to manufacturing operations.
- Maintaining drawings, specifications and technical documentation and ensuring work complies with relevant electrical, engineering and safety standards.

What We're Looking For
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Building Services or a related engineering discipline, or strong relevant industry experience.
- A practical electrical engineering background gained within manufacturing, production, facilities or a heavy industrial environment.
- Experience delivering or supporting engineering projects, installations, plant upgrades or site improvement works.
- Good knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including three-phase supplies, distribution, motors, drives and control systems.
- Exposure to facilities and site infrastructure such as HVAC, compressed air, water, ventilation, lighting, heating or other building services would be highly beneficial.
- Experience with machinery installation, electrical services, commissioning or capital equipment projects would be advantageous.
- CAD experience and knowledge of CMMS, Oracle or automation systems would be beneficial.
- Comfortable working with contractors, suppliers, maintenance, production and other departments to deliver projects in a live manufacturing environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
