Job Description
The Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating and managing engineering activities for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and power infrastructure projects across the EMEA region. The role ensures that engineering deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with project requirements, quality standards, and contractual obligations. The Project Engineer acts as the key technical interface between internal teams, external engineering partners, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers throughout project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage external engineering firms, subcontractors, and internal engineering disciplines, including civil, electrical, network, and permitting teams, to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.
- Ensure engineering deliverables comply with contractual requirements, project specifications, constructability standards, and regional design considerations.
- Coordinate and lead internal and external design review meetings throughout the project lifecycle.
- Verify compliance of engineering deliverables with internal quality standards and applicable industry regulations.
- Promote value engineering initiatives and support innovative approaches to improve system design, constructability, and project efficiency.
- Support procurement activities by developing technical specifications, reviewing vendor documentation, and assessing technical proposals from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Review internal and external engineering designs to ensure alignment with project requirements and contractual commitments.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and provide technical leadership throughout the execution phase.
- Manage technical escalations and coordinate resolution of engineering issues impacting project performance.
- Support project safety initiatives and ensure engineering activities align with company safety objectives.
- Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, project execution methods, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Travel as required throughout the EMEA region to support project execution, customer meetings, site activities, and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Additional technical certifications or specialized engineering training are beneficial.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering, project engineering, or project execution within the power, renewable energy, battery storage, or utility sectors.
- Experience designing or supporting utility-scale power systems, photovoltaic plants, battery energy storage systems, or related infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) project execution.
- Familiarity with applicable electrical codes, industry standards, and regulations within the EMEA region.
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, contractors, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Additional European language skills are considered an advantage.
