Overall Purpose
As a Network Project Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering customer-facing network infrastructure projects across a range of client environments. Working from approved Solution Architect designs, you will take ownership of network implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, testing, documentation, and customer handover.
Working closely with Solution Architects, Project Managers, customers, and support teams, you will help deliver secure, reliable, and supportable network solutions while ensuring projects are delivered on time, to agreed requirements, and to a consistently high standard. The role is based in London, with regular onsite visits to customers across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Own technical delivery from approved network design through implementation, testing, documentation, and customer handover.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects and Project Managers to understand client requirements, technical designs, project scope, and dependencies.
- Scope, configure, and deploy network infrastructure in accordance with approved designs, best practices, and industry standards.
- Install and configure Cisco network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, and wireless solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network and project-related technical issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls, to help protect clients' networks from cyber threats.
- Ensure network implementations meet relevant security policies, industry standards, and customer requirements.
- Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, including network diagrams, configuration files, and standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate effectively with customers, Solution Architects, Project Managers, and support teams, communicating progress, risks, and dependencies clearly.
- Build strong client relationships by communicating technical concepts effectively and providing a high level of customer service.
- Support the successful transition of completed network projects into ongoing managed services.

What We Need From Our Project Engineer (Network)
You will be a confident, customer-focused network engineer who enjoys taking ownership of technical delivery and solving problems methodically.
You will be comfortable working independently under general guidance, while collaborating closely with customers and colleagues across the business. You will have a strong understanding of networking fundamentals and hands-on experience installing and configuring Cisco network infrastructure.
You will bring strong communication, troubleshooting, documentation, and time-management skills, together with the ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities effectively.
You will also be confident working directly with customers and committed to delivering excellent service and high-quality technical outcomes.
Essential
Experience and Expertise
- 3+ years' experience within an IT environment.
- 1+ years' experience installing and configuring network equipment.
- Proven experience delivering customer-facing network projects.
- Hands-on experience installing and configuring Cisco network infrastructure, including:
- Cisco ASA / Firepower / Meraki Firewalls.
- Cisco Catalyst Switches, including 9500, 9300, 3850, or similar.
- Cisco Meraki Wireless Access Points.
- Experience installing and configuring network infrastructure from other vendors.
- Good knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including LAN, WAN, routing, switching, security, and wireless.
- Strong network troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong customer communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good documentation, coordination, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of project responsibilities and deliverables.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- CCNA certification or equivalent.
Desirable
- PCNSA certification.
- JNCIA-SEC certification.
- JNCIA-Junos certification.
- Experience working within an MSP or professional services environment.
- Experience delivering network infrastructure projects across multiple customer environments.

Location & Travel
The role is based in London, with regular onsite visits to customers across the UK.
You will therefore need:
- A full UK driving licence.
- Access to your own vehicle.
- Flexibility to travel to customer sites as required.
