Compco Fire Systems Job Opportunity

Compco Fire Systems is looking for an experienced Project Engineer or Project Manager to join our Operations Team in Swansea.

This is an opportunity to join a specialist and established fire-protection business, working within a collaborative and supportive team to deliver high-quality projects and build trusted, long-term relationships with our customers.

Depending upon your existing experience, you will take responsibility for the planning, coordination and successful delivery of automatic sprinkler, dry riser, wet riser and hydrant projects from inception through to completion.

We welcome applications from candidates with relevant project-management, construction or engineering experience. Previous experience within the sprinkler or fire-protection industry would be advantageous, but it is not essential. The successful candidate will receive mentoring, training and ongoing professional-development support appropriate to their experience and the level at which they join the business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage projects from initiation through to successful completion, ensuring delivery to agreed scope, programme, budget, quality and safety requirements.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, resource allocations and communication strategies to support successful project delivery.
  • Manage client, stakeholder, supplier and subcontractor relationships, maintaining effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project performance through regular site visits, progress reviews and reporting, implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, environmental requirements, contractual obligations, quality standards and company procedures.
  • Identify, assess and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, changes and opportunities, implementing mitigation and contingency plans as necessary.
  • Lead, coordinate and support project teams, including the delegation of responsibilities and management of staff, subcontractors and consultants.
  • Manage project costs and financial performance, including forecasting, budget control and reporting.
  • Produce and present project updates, progress reports and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong business relationships that contribute to project success and future opportunities.
  • Conduct project reviews and lessons-learned exercises, promoting continuous improvement and the development of best-practice project management processes and tools.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and demonstrate leadership in line with company values and standards

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
