A well-established engineering services business is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join its growing team. This is a varied and hands-on role, managing projects from initial enquiry through to completion across a range of mechanical engineering, manufacturing, repair and site-service applications.
You'll work closely with customers, suppliers, workshop teams, and subcontractors to deliver high-quality engineering solutions, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys both the technical and customer-facing aspects of engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- The Project Engineer will manage engineering projects from initial enquiry through to successful delivery.
- Attend customer sites to assess requirements and carry out technical surveys.
- Produce project scopes, technical documentation, and engineering reports.
- The Project Engineer will prepare quotations and support commercial project activities.
- Coordinate manufacturing, repair, fabrication, and subcontracted work packages.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery expectations are achieved.
- The Project Engineer will prepare support, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all projects are delivered safely and in accordance with relevant health and safety procedures.

About You
- A minimum of five years' experience within a mechanical engineering environment and similar Project Engineering role
- Strong practical engineering knowledge with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Commercial awareness with an understanding of project costs, lead times, and customer requirements.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites.

Desirable Experience
- The Project Engineer will ideally have a background in delivering projects across rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, or fans.
- Industrial maintenance and repair projects.
- Reverse engineering activities.
- Project management and customer account support.
- Estimating, quotations, and project costing.
- Preparation of RAMS and site documentation.
- Heavy industrial, process, or manufacturing sectors.
