About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer with a background in Mechanical Design or Structural Engineering to join a dynamic and expanding team. In this role, you will serve as the primary technical expert on large-scale civil development projects, focusing on the design and development of mechanical and structural components. Your expertise will support the creation of bespoke equipment such as conveyors, shredders, and other large machinery essential to the company's manufacturing processes. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse projects within a collaborative environment, contributing to innovative solutions in the waste and recycling sector.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in mechanical design, structural engineering, or related fields. Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks is essential, with experience in fabrication, sheet metal work, or structural design highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team. A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering, structural engineering, or a related discipline is preferred. Being commutable to Kettering is essential for this role.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop bespoke mechanical and structural components for large-scale equipment projects.
- Support the entire product development lifecycle, from initial concept through to commissioning and testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet technical specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.
- Prepare detailed technical drawings and documentation using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Coordinate with fabrication and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
- Conduct technical reviews and troubleshooting during project execution to resolve any design or engineering issues.
- Assist in the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies.
- Maintain compliance with industry standards and safety regulations throughout project phases.
