Project Engineer (Statutory Inspections)
OEG is a leading energy solutions business, providing mission-critical infrastructure assets and services to the global offshore energy industry. Through our specialist divisions - topside, marine, subsea, cables, logistics, and industrials, we are a pivotal link in the global offshore energy project chain, ensuring our customers’ projects are delivered safely, reliably, and efficiently. We are currently seeking a Project Engineer (Statutory Inspections) to join our Topside Division.
Location
Hunmanby/Chester/Lowestoft/Portsmouth/Glasgow, United Kingdom (Hybrid/Remote)
Core Purpose
- To ensure the safe and effective delivery of statutory inspection projects across offshore wind projects in the UK and Europe.
- To coordinate project teams, engineering activities, and resources throughout planning, execution, and completion.
- To support compliance, continuous improvement, and high standards of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
General
- Ensure team members are sufficiently equipped for statutory inspection projects.
- Implement project tooling and equipment, ensuring certification is managed and Motion Kinetic is updated as required, in coordination with the Stores Coordinator.
- Implement project consumable stock items, such as inspection tags and oils/greases, ensuring substances are accompanied by a COSHH assessment/MSDS and any relevant equipment required for the applicable controls, in coordination with the Stores Coordinator.
- Implement OEG and client safe systems of work.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the project QHSE plan (RAMS).

Leadership
- Support the Project Manager with tooling and solution delivery.
- Manage general purchasing in accordance with OEG procedures.
- Create PDF documents.
- Assist in the preparation of project tooling and equipment records.
Health & Safety
- Promote a safe culture within the teams working under your control.
- Create safe systems of work.
- Follow and promote adherence to the most recent OEG safe systems of work.
- Carry out project briefings with input from the wider team prior to project start, covering key information required.
- Work with project management to improve safety arrangements.
- Follow and encourage adherence to site rules.
Quality Control
- Annual document reviews.
- Take an active role in the continual improvement of OEG quality systems and standards.
- Carry out pre- and post-project equipment inspections, noting any deficiencies and damage, and use the data obtained to conduct root cause analysis where applicable.
Role Requirements
- Keep up to date with any new or amended processes, procedures, and regulatory changes that impact the role, and learn information about new products, always following instructions from the company.
- Attend meetings as directed by your manager.
- Be responsible for the security of client and company data as provided and used in the role.
- Be responsible for the security of company property as provided and used in the role.
- Support department initiatives to help achieve departmental annual targets and objectives.

Skills and Experience
Required
- Proficient with MS Office
- Proficient with reporting software packages
- Offshore/Onshore Statutory Inspection experience and knowledge
- Ability to prioritize and organize tasks
- Strong communication skills
- Understanding of calibration and calibration requirements
- Understanding of COSHH regulations
- Working knowledge of standards and legislation pertaining to lifting equipment (LOLER), PSSR equipment, and PUWER
- Full UK clean driving licence
Desirable
- 5 years’ experience within the offshore wind industry
- Motion Kinetic experience
- LEEA General
- Maintenance and troubleshooting background
- Crane/wire rope inspection
Qualifications
Required
- Vocational qualifications such as City & Guilds, ONC, HNC & HND in an engineering discipline
Desirable
- Relevant crane/service lift training certifications and/or demonstrable experience (desirable)
- IOSH Managing Safely
