In CIS, we deliver Rail Infrastructure systems for customers across the UK and internationally. Our portfolio includes the telecoms transmission, signalling and application networks, Centralised SCADA & Line-wide systems, Stations & Utilities, Power SCADA, Control Systems, Tunnel Ventilation, M&E, and many more. We undertake the full engineering delivery life cycle across various projects.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to join Siemens Rail Infrastructure, Communication and Information Systems business based in Glasgow, Scotland. In this role, you will undertake and champion engineering activities within the Ops Comms and Networks portfolio whilst also supporting within SCADA and SISS work to ensure that we meet the required quality and safety standards and meet expected timescales. The Project Engineer will be expected to act as the Project Engineering Manager on medium-sized projects or to manage an engineering work package on a larger project.
This role is classified as safety critical and is subject to a pre-employment medical assessment which must be successfully completed prior to start.
You’ll make a difference by..
- Planning and leading all project engineering activities including full lifecycle design and change control processes
- Being responsible for the implementation of the Design processes for integration, interfaces, human factors, integration with RAM, EMC and Engineering Safety activities and for the identification and development of value engineering opportunities
- Co-ordinating Project Technical Assurance
- Coordinating the engineering activities of sub-contractors
- Leading the engineering team on requirements analysis, development of solution concepts, preliminary designs and detailed designs for development, deployment and integration.
- Collaborating with partners and sub-contractors in the delivery of solutions and services

What You’ll Need To Succeed..
- Engineering delivery experience across multi-disciplinary projects
- The ability and experience to successfully manage a small/medium sized teams of design engineers
- Experience of requirements management for complete project lifecycle
- Ability to use IT packages such as MS Office, Visio, CAD, MS Projects etc
- Be resilient to overcome setbacks and be committed to achieve project goals
