Job Title: Project Engineer
Location: Lisburn
Reporting to: General Manager/MD
About the Role:
Due to continued growth and the award of data centre fuel polishing, pumping and intake systems, we are seeking a Project Engineer with strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical and automated pumping processes to support the delivery of systems in hyperscale and enterprise data centre customers across Ireland and Europe.
In this role, you will coordinate and support the design, fabrication, procurement, installation, integration and testing of fuel polishing, pumping and intake systems. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, supply-chain partners and major data centre operators to ensure the safe, timely and efficient delivery of fuel infrastructure.
This is a varied role combining technical sales, design coordination, equipment procurement, supply chain management, project delivery, testing and final QA/QC handover. The position is predominately office based with travel to supplier and customer premises as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Engineering & Delivery
- Manage and support all mechanical, electrical and ICA aspects of assembly and testing of fuel polishing, pumping and intake systems within data centres.
- Interpret and work from P&IDs, technical drawings, design specifications, equipment data sheets and functional control narratives.
- Coordinate procurement activities, including selection and ordering of pumps, skids, valves, instruments and fuel system equipment.
- Develop project schedules and ensure all interfaces - from procurement, through design and fabrication to testing and final customer delivery.
- Support customer commissioning teams in FAT functional testing.
- Prepare engineering documentation including method statements, risk assessments, O&M manuals, commissioning schedules and progress reports.

Stakeholder Management
- Liaise and coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors and internal project teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Attend progress meetings, technical reviews and testing walkdowns.
- Support training and handover processes for customer installation teams.
Key Competencies and Skills:
- Proven experience in a Mechanical Engineering environment with additional experience of electrical and process automated systems.
- Strong knowledge of pipework, valves, instruments, controls and filtration equipment.
- Familiar with PLC, SCADA or BMS-controlled systems in industrial environments.
- Excellent analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks within time-sensitive project schedules.
- Willingness to learn, innovate and deliver within the fast-paced data centre sector.
Qualifications:
- Third-level qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Environmental or Automation Engineering preferred.
- Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
- Full EU/UK driving licence.
- Additional industry certifications (IOSH/NEBOSH/PMI/PMP) are beneficial.
