About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring that site development projects are technically prepared for construction, executed safely, and compliant with all relevant standards and regulations. Your expertise will support the successful delivery of high-quality housing, commercial, and industrial developments within set timelines and budgets. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, including civil infrastructure, drainage, highways, and other civil engineering schemes. The ideal candidate will possess a proactive approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of civil engineering design and project management principles.
Qualifications
- A HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Demonstrable experience working as a Civil Planning Engineer, Civil Infrastructure Engineer, Civil Engineer, Planning Engineer, Drainage Engineer, Civil Project Engineer, or Pre-Construction Engineer.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and civil engineering/drainage design software.
- Experience in the design and technical approval of highways and drainage infrastructure, including S38, S278, and S104 legal agreements, in accordance with the Highways Act 1980.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, technical standards, and adopting authority requirements.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to liaise effectively with external consultants, authorities, and internal teams.

Responsibilities
- Lead and support all civil engineering schemes to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, facilitating successful project completion across multiple developments.
- Secure all necessary statutory approvals from highways, drainage, and other adopting authorities in line with project schedules, preventing avoidable delays during construction.
- Ensure civil engineering designs are compliant with all relevant legislation, technical standards, and authority requirements, minimizing risks and reducing the need for redesigns.
- Manage civil works projects across residential, commercial, and industrial schemes, coordinating resources and schedules effectively.
- Develop and review specifications to ensure practical, buildable, and cost-effective civil engineering solutions that optimize value while maintaining quality and compliance.
- Oversee external engineering consultants to deliver coordinated, high-quality designs that meet project requirements, are issued promptly, and reduce site queries, delays, and rework.
- Promote and enforce safe working practices on-site, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
- Provide technical support to site teams, resolving civil engineering queries promptly and effectively to facilitate smooth project execution.
