Project Engineer
Location: Burton upon Trent area
Salary: £55,000 (Salary flexibility available for the right candidate) + Bonus + Company Benefits
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Engineer to join a well-established, highly automated manufacturing business based around Burton upon Trent.
The company is currently experiencing an impressive period of growth and investment, creating an opportunity for a Project Engineer to play a key role in the delivery of engineering and capital projects across a busy manufacturing site.
The Role
Working closely with Engineering, Operations, and wider site teams, you will take ownership of engineering projects from initial concept through to installation, commissioning, and handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing engineering and capital projects from concept through to completion.
- Supporting the introduction and installation of new manufacturing equipment and technology.
- Developing project scopes, specifications, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinating contractors, suppliers, and internal engineering teams.
- Managing project costs and ensuring delivery against agreed timescales.
- Supporting equipment installation, commissioning, validation, and handover.
- Identifying opportunities to improve automation, reliability, efficiency, and site performance.
- Ensuring projects are delivered in line with relevant Health & Safety and engineering standards.
- Working cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Operations, Quality, and other key stakeholders.

About You
We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer with a background in a manufacturing, production, or engineering-led environment.

Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience delivering engineering or CAPEX projects within manufacturing.
- Experience working with automated production equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working with equipment suppliers, contractors, and OEMs.
- Knowledge of equipment installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement.
- A recognised engineering qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Automation, or a related discipline.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
