Your new company
An established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is expanding its delivery team across the Anglian Water capital programme. Following the award of further work across the framework, the business is looking to recruit a Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of clean water and wastewater projects across Norfolk and the surrounding region.
With a long-term programme of investment secured, this presents an excellent opportunity to join a growing team delivering essential infrastructure improvements while benefiting from ongoing contract opportunities and a strong pipeline of future work.
Your new role
Working as a Project Engineer, you will take responsibility for the technical delivery and coordination of construction activities on a range of water industry schemes. You will act as a key link between operational teams, designers, and project management staff to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
Typical duties will include:
- Overseeing day-to-day engineering activities on site throughout the construction phase
- Preparing and implementing construction documentation including RAMS, inspection plans, and work packages
- Supporting the planning and sequencing of project activities to achieve programme milestones
- Providing technical guidance to site teams and subcontractors
- Managing design queries and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
- Ensuring works are completed in line with approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards
- Carrying out site inspections and quality checks throughout project delivery
- Maintaining accurate engineering records, as-built documentation, and quality assurance paperwork
- Monitoring progress and contributing to project reporting requirements
- Supporting commercial and operational teams with forecasting, change management, and project controls
- Championing best practice in health, safety, and environmental compliance across site operations

What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience working as a Project Engineer within the water, utilities, or civil engineering sectors
- Strong understanding of site engineering procedures and construction techniques
- Experience supporting the delivery of infrastructure projects from construction through to completion
- Ability to review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical information
- CSCS card
- HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams
- Full UK driving licence

Desirable experience
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification
- Knowledge of Temporary Works procedures
- Understanding of NEC forms of contract
- Experience working on regulated utility or infrastructure frameworks
- Previous involvement in clean water or wastewater treatment projects
