A well-established engineering and construction business delivering critical infrastructure projects across the UK is seeking a Project Engineer to join its growing team on the Anglian Water framework. With major investment continuing across the region, the organisation has secured a substantial programme of work and requires additional engineering support to help deliver a portfolio of clean water and wastewater projects.
Operating from Lincoln and supporting schemes across Lincolnshire and the wider Anglian region, this role offers long-term contract opportunities on a range of technically challenging projects.
Your new role
As Project Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the safe and successful delivery of water infrastructure schemes from construction through to completion. Working closely with site management, design teams and subcontractors, you will ensure engineering activities are planned, coordinated and delivered to programme, budget and quality requirements.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading site engineering activities across multiple work fronts
- Reviewing designs and identifying buildability challenges before construction commences
- Producing engineering documentation and supporting construction planning activities
- Managing technical interfaces between design teams, site operations and commercial functions
- Providing engineering support to supervisors and delivery teams on site
- Coordinating subcontractor works to ensure compliance with project requirements
- Verifying works are completed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications
- Maintaining inspection records, quality documentation and site registers
- Contributing to project progress updates, programme reviews and performance reporting
- Assisting with change management processes and technical assessments
- Driving compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards throughout delivery

What you'll need to succeed
- Experience working in a Project Engineer capacity on water projects
- Knowledge of site-based construction delivery within a regulated environment
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Strong communication and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders
- CSCS card
- Engineering qualification such as HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience overseeing subcontractors and site operations
- UK driving licence and willingness to travel across project locations

It would be beneficial if you have:
- Previous experience working on Anglian Water projects or similar utility frameworks
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification
- Knowledge of Temporary Works procedures and controls
- Familiarity with NEC contracts and early warning processes
- Experience delivering heavy civil engineering, pipeline or treatment infrastructure works
