Project Engineer
West Midlands
Role Overview:
Project-focused technical role working with internal teams and customers to scope, design and deliver IT and security solutions, while acting as a trusted technical advisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical consultancy and advise customers on IT solutions and best practice.
- Design and deploy servers, networks, Azure/AWS/M365, firewalls and backup solutions.
- Implement security solutions including endpoint protection, patching and DLP.
- Carry out security assessments and consultancy, including Cyber Essentials, Copilot, PCI-DSS, penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
- Scope projects, define timelines, deliverables and quotations with Account Managers.
- Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams and configuration notes.
- Handle on-site installations and complex technical issues.
- Configure switches, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs and wireless networks.
- Act as a mentor and escalation point within the project team.

Key Requirements:
- MSP experience in a project-focused technical role.
- Strong customer-facing communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to make sound technical recommendations that add value to customers.
- Strong understanding of modern IT, cloud, networking and security technologies.
- Self-motivated, organised and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to keep up with new technologies and service offerings.
