We are currently looking for a Project Engineering Manager/Design Manager, reporting to the PPP Head of Engineering Capability and Assurance, to join our existing team, ideally based in the Warrington or Whitehaven areas, but we will consider other locations if you are able to commit to regular travel to our client offices.
You will be joining a team of experienced professional engineers, assuring all aspects of engineering delivery throughout the full life cycle of project delivery (from front-end feasibility to commissioning and handover to operations). The role will appeal to individuals who are seeking an opportunity for a key role in a global engineering consultancy, contributing to a programme of strategic national importance.
The Role
The Project Engineering Manager (PEM) / Design Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating the engineering design scope associated with utilities and infrastructure modifications, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery in line with programme requirements.
The role will act as CDM Principal Designer, provides design leadership, and controls cost, schedule, and change across the defined scope.
This exciting role will be accountable for the delivery of a major project(s) within the portfolio. The projects are in all phases of the project lifecycle from studies through to construction. You will lead a team of multidiscipline designers, engineers, and engineering managers.
As a PEM you should have:
- Experience of major engineering delivery on EPC projects
- Proven experience managing utilities and infrastructure design, including HV/LV and water assets.
- Experience acting as CDM Principal Designer or managing CDM PD responsibilities.
- Strong design coordination and interface management capability.
- Experience with change control, forecasting, and performance management

As a PEM you will already be/have:
- Chartered Engineer (or equivalent)
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering discipline
- Knowledge of the Nuclear Industry (or similar regulated Industry), Regulatory Framework, and Safety requirements
