💼 We’re hiring: Project Engineer
Fractory is transforming how manufacturing gets done — we run the full service from quoting to manufacturing and delivery, and take responsibility for every step. You’re used to ordering almost anything online in a couple of minutes; we’re making manufacturing procurement work the same way, without waiting days for quotes.
👉 As a Project Engineer, you’ll own customer orders across a range of industries — with a prime focus on sheet metal and CNC — combining technical expertise with strong communication and project management to drive every project from quote to delivery.
👀 You’ll love this if you…
- Hold an engineering degree (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or similar)
- Bring 3+ years of engineering and manufacturing experience
- Are proficient in CAD software (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, AutoCAD)
- Have experience in technical project management
- Are skilled in root cause analysis and complex problem-solving
- Stay organised in fast-moving, dynamic environments
- Communicate and collaborate well in international settings
- Juggle multiple priorities and hit deadlines without dropping quality

🛠 What you’ll do:
You’ll be the engineer behind the order — turning customer drawings into manufacturable, well-priced, on-time projects, and stepping in to solve problems when things get complex.
Quoting & manufacturability
- Analyse customer specifications, drawings, and requirements to assess manufacturability and flag potential risks
- Recommend optimal designs and materials for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and quality
- Prepare accurate, competitive quotes based on production costs, timeline estimates, quality, and material procurement
- Partner with the sales team to align quotes with customer expectations and project constraints
Production & problem-solving
- Proactively identify and resolve issues throughout production, minimising delays and keeping execution smooth
- Lead the problem-solving process on troubled orders, coordinating sales, suppliers, and customers to a resolution
Collaboration & continuous improvement
- Work continuously with our supplier network to improve performance
- Manage communication and collaboration across internal teams and external partners
- Identify and implement improvements that continually refine our processes and workflows
