TECOSIM are currently supporting a major OEM on an exciting new project, we urgently require four experienced Lead / Project Engineers to support Current Model Production (CMP) activities at their Crewe site.
These positions offer the opportunity to work on world-class luxury vehicle programmes within a fast-paced engineering environment.

About the Opportunities
We are seeking four experienced Lead / Project Engineers to support Current Model Production (CMP) activities for premium automotive vehicle programmes based in Crewe.
These positions will be responsible for leading engineering activities, driving issue resolution, implementing engineering changes, coordinating validation activities, and delivering production improvements across current production vehicles.
We are recruiting for specialists in the following areas:
- Lead / Project Engineer – Seals & Sealing Management
- Lead / Project Engineer – Body Hardware Systems (Exterior Trim)
- Lead / Project Engineer – Interior Systems
- Lead / Project Engineer – Seating Systems
Successful candidates will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Logistics, Supplier Quality and Programme Teams to deliver robust engineering solutions while ensuring compliance with programme timing, quality, cost and legislative requirements.
Role Overview
As a Lead / Project Engineer, you will take responsibility for coordinating and leading engineering activities within your respective commodity area, ensuring delivery of engineering solutions from root cause identification through to final implementation and release into production.
You will act as a key interface between suppliers and cross-functional teams, managing issue resolution activities and supporting continuous improvement across Current Model Production vehicles.
Commodity-Specific Roles
Lead / Project Engineer – Seals & Sealing Management
Responsible for:
- Door, tailgate and hood sealing systems
- Glass and aperture sealing systems
- Water management systems
- Air and acoustic sealing performance
- Sealing integration and sealing management activities
Lead / Project Engineer – Body Hardware Systems (Exterior Trim)
Responsible for:
- Exterior trim systems
- Brightware and decorative trim
- Mouldings and finishing components
- Exterior add-on parts
- Functional body hardware systems
Lead / Project Engineer – Interior Systems

Lead / Project Engineer – Seating Systems
Responsible for:
- Front and rear seating systems
- Seat structures and mechanisms
- Seat comfort features
- Seat foams and trim
- Powered seating functions
- Occupant restraint interfaces, including airbags and seatbelts
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate engineering activities within the assigned commodity area.
- Manage engineering changes from issue identification through to implementation and final resolution.
- Develop containment actions and permanent corrective solutions.
- Conduct root cause investigations and support issue resolution activities.
- Arrange, lead and manage weekly project meetings, including preparation of agendas, invitations, action logs and meeting minutes.
- Coordinate special meetings with Finance, Purchasing, Quality, Production, Bill of Material teams and other key stakeholders.
- Attend customer and programme review meetings.
- Prepare technical documentation and support engineering reviews.
- Define, plan and deliver prototype builds, validation activities and production line trials.
- Develop engineering solutions with complete design feasibility and validation.
- Raise and manage:
- Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)
- Change approvals and release documentation
- Production permits
- Engineering releases
- Manage BoM and PDM updates associated with engineering changes.
- Ensure all engineering solutions comply with company engineering standards and worldwide legislative requirements.
- Review Design FMEAs, Process FMEAs and DVP requirements.
- Assess packaging constraints, style hard points and manufacturing feasibility.
- Coordinate supplier feasibility, cost and timing assessments.
- Present engineering proposals and issue resolution plans at management review forums and cross-functional meetings.
- Maintain project timing plans, cost status reports, tracking lists and open issue registers.
Key Deliverables
- Engineering change implementation from root cause agreement to final resolution.
- Fully detailed 2D and 3D CAD data compliant with company standards.
- Validation plans and testing requirements.
- Containment and permanent production solutions.
- Engineering release approvals.
- Line trials and off-tool validation activities.
- BoM and PDM management.
- Supplier coordination and technical feasibility assessments.
- Successful delivery of programme milestones and engineering targets.
Essential Experience
- Minimum 4-5 years' experience supporting automotive vehicle programmes.
- Demonstrable experience within Current Model Production (CMP), series production or production support engineering environments.
- Strong technical expertise in at least one of the following disciplines:
- Seals & Sealing Management
- Body Hardware / Exterior Trim
- Interior Systems
- Seating Systems
- Proven experience of engineering change management and issue resolution.
- Experience delivering validation plans and production implementation activities.
- Strong stakeholder and supplier management experience.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Fluent English (C1 level or above).

- Product data management systems
- Manufacturing release systems

Additional Requirements
- UK residency preferred, ideally within commuting distance of Crewe.
- Authorised to work in UK
- Ability to work on-site in Crewe.
- Willingness to undertake occasional business travel when required.
- Availability to support urgent production-related activities and programme escalations.
